The frequency of the output voltage is determined by the rotor’s number of pole pairs and the engine speed. A rotor consists of magnetic windings (poles) and mostly has 2 or 4 poles.
 
We calculate the frequency with the formula beneath:
f = p*n/60 f: the frequency in Hz
  p: the number of pole pairs
  n: the engine speed in rpm

In the table below, you will find a few examples we calculated using this formula.

 In some countries, they have other frequencies, which causes the engine speeds to change as well.
